23.jpg1. Judge from the temperature of the flame

Under the detection of colorimetric pyrometer and the electronic computer, we can get a data close to the actual temperature. Besides, to watch the colors of the flame is another way to know its temperature. The heat current is driven by the ongoing fuel combustion. The heat released from the flame makes the kiln hot and hot. So Kiln’s temperature is risen with the ones of flame.

Look at the table 1.1. Colors and its equivalent temperatures can be figured out clearly. The color is seen without the cobalt glass. Temperatures are higher if we see these colors via a cobalt glass.

2. The height of the clinker is lift up.

①In the normal circumstance, the meal is rotated with the kiln wall and fallen down at a certain height. Usually, the raw meal is with low viscidity and fine particle size;

②when the kilns’ temperature is higher than the normal ones, they are lifted more higher than the usual time, too. It is more viscidity when fallen down so that some of the particle size is thick and big as pie;

③if the firing temperature is much lower, the clinker will slip down of the kilns walls at the height of the low. The clinker particle size is cohesionless and slight.

3. Judge from the clinker particle size 24.jpg

①Usual time: 5-15mm, feel fine and close in fingers, glossy color.

②High temperature: big and thick particle, such as, be in block.

③Low temperature: brownish red, finely granular structure and coarse, sometimes in powdery; sometimes the clinker is in yellow, which is known as the phenomenon of “underfiring.”

  4. Judge by the height of the clinker liter weight and free CaO

  ①High firing temperature: Clinker is densify, high liter weight and low free Cao.

  ②Low firing temperature: low liter weight & high free Cao

  ③Right firing temperature: liter weight is in ±50g.
